Ijtihad characteristics of the Holy Prophet: Research Study

Abstract

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) is bestowed with many exclusive and differentiated characteristics by the Allah Almighty. This research paper aims to describe an exclusive characteristic of  Holy prophet that is  Ijtihad. The characteristics of ijtihad of the Prophet(P.B.U.H) are not described in detail. The specialty of the Prophet (P.B.U.H) is not mentioned in the books of the Seerah and Khasais. The previous prophets also used ijtihad, but the ijtihad of the Prophet (P.B.U.H) gained the specialty that his ijtihadi error also became shari'ah and his ijtihadi decisions were upheld by Allah Almighty, while in the ijtihads of the previous Prophets the error was legal Status not obtained. The Prophet (P.B.U.H) despite being a Prophet, performed ijtihad in many matters, although divine revelation used to descend on him, And determines a course of action from his own opinion. What are the Ijtihadi characteristics of the Prophet? What were His principles of Ijtihad and what is the difference between Ijtihad of Prophet and non-Prophet? Examples of the Ijtihad of Holy Prophet are given in this article.
