Religious and academic services of Allama Fazal Rasool Badayouni

Abstract

Allama Fazal Rasool Badayuni (1213-1289) was a renowned scholar, contriver, and elocutionist. He rendered valuable services for the promotion of religious knowledge and wrote about diverse topics. Contemporary and later Ulema had absolute faith in the erudition of Allama Fazal Rasool Badayuni. The Ulema who admired his work include Allama Fazal Haq Khair Abadi, Mufti Sadar-ud-Din Aazradah, Maulana Khair-ud-Din Dehlavi, Maulana Haider Ali FaizAbadi, Allama Syed Mehr Ali Shah, Qaazi Fazal Ahmed Ludhianwi, Allama Ahmad Raza Khan Brelvi, Maulana Syed Ahmad Ali Gulshan Abadi, Doctor Shams Badayuni, Allama Abdul Hakim Sharf Qaadri, and Maulana Yasin Akhtar Masbahi. Allama Fazal Rasool Badayuni continued corresponding with his contemporaries about disputed issues even during the difficult times of War of Independence 1857. His services for propagation of religious knowledge are viewed with respect even today and will be remembered forever in Subcontinent.
