Islamic Proactive Model of Conflict Management in Domestic Paradigm

It is seen that the fabric of the family is disintegrating very fast. Happiness and warmth in the mutual relations of family members are becoming less and less and complaints about each other are taking the form of conflicts. If the leading and responsible people of the society do not pay attention to this and do not make a serious effort to find a solution, then the nation will have to bear the consequences. The data have shown that conflict between family members is on rise. Increasing divorce rate in Pakistan is proof of it. Islam views family institution as primary unit of society. Islam gives primary importance to the stability of the family. Islam not only provides guidance for resolving conflicts but also prescribes measures and provides moral guidance through which family conflicts can be reduced. In this paper, an outline of proactive model of conflict management is presented in the light of which family conflicts can be reduced and the foundation of a happy family life can be laid. The article consists of narrative and analytical method of research. It is clear from the discussion that Islam offers values that can be followed to lead a happy married life and bring peace and tranquility to the society.
